Regulations
Eligibility
- The festival is open to filmmakers from all around the world.
- Both feature-length films (over 70 minutes) and short films (under 40 minutes) are eligible for submission.
- All genres are welcome, including narrative, documentary, experimental, animation, and more.
- Films must have been completed after January 1, 2021
Submission Guidelines

Films must be submitted via the official festival submission platform FilmFreeway.

All submissions must include a completed entry form and the required submission fee.

Each entry must be accompanied by a brief synopsis, a high-resolution poster or still, and the director’s bio.

Submissions must be in English or have English subtitles.
Premiere Status

Preference will be given to films that are Singapore premieres; however, this is not a requirement.

Films that have been publicly screened or broadcast in Singapore before the festival dates are not eligible.
Screening Formats

Films selected for screening must be available in DCP or digital format ( e.g., .mp4, .mov).
Selection Process
- All films will be reviewed by the festival’s programming team and jury.
- The decision of the selection committee is final. Due to the high volume ofsubmissions, the festival cannot provide individual feedback.
- Selected filmmakers will be notified by email and must confirm their participation within a specified period.
Festival Participation
- Filmmakers whose films are selected for screening agree to participate in our online platform.
- SIFF reserves the right to use excerpts (up to 3 minutes), film stills, and posters for promotional purposes across all media.
Awards and Prizes

The festival will present awards in various categories, including Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and others.

All award decisions are made by the festival’s official jury and are final.
Rights and Permissions

By submitting a film, the filmmaker confirms that they have obtained all necessary rights and permissions for the film’s content, including music, images, and any other third-party materials.

The festival is not responsible for any claims related to copyright infringement, unauthorized use of intellectual property, or any other legal matters concerning the film’s content.
Withdrawal and Refunds

Once a film is submitted, the submission fee is non-refundable.

A film may be withdrawn from consideration by submitting a written request to the festival organizers; however, fees will not be refunded.
General Terms

The festival reserves the right to make any necessary changes to the rules and regulations at any time without prior notice.

By submitting to SIFF, participants agree to these rules and regulations in full.
